Coversure can provide treatment risk cover for a number of beauty or body art related trades. We can provide cover starting at £100,000 up to as much as £2,000,000 for some trades.

We cover so many different treatments, we couldn't possibly list them all here, but if you undertake treatments in one of the following areas, then we can almost certainly help you.

Tattooing, Body Piercing and other Body Arts (including airbrush body art & henna)
Hairdressers (including mobile or renting a chair in a salon)
Tanning Salons
Beauty Salons (including mobile or renting a chair in a salon)
Nail bars

We are also able to cover some of the more unusual trades such as Reiki and other alternative medical practices.

FAQ's

What is Treatment Risk insurance?

As public liability insurance does not cover the "item" (or customer) you are working on, if you are a hairdresser, beautician, tattooist/body artist or other similar trade, you will need cover for the treatments you apply. Treatment risk provides cover in case you cause injury to a person you apply a treatment to.

What is Public Liability Insurance?

Public liability insurance provides cover should you cause bodily injury to third parties or material damage to a third party's property. It does not normally cover defective workmanship.

Why doesn't Public Liability Insurance cover defective workmanship?

It is generally assumed that you are properly qualified and experienced in your particular trade. Therefore, the majority of insurance companies do exclude defective workmanship (efficacy), however we are able to include it for certain trades. For example, people who work in beauty or body art related trades can take out treatment risk cover.
